Gwen Rangel was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She has been passionate about animals from a young age and has always known that she wants to be a veterinarian. In 2019, her family moved to Kerrville, and she began shadowing at Fredericksburg Equine and Small Animal Veterinary Services in 2020.

Through her dedication to exceptional patient care and commitment to continuously expanding her skills, Gwen earned a position at FESAVS as a veterinary assistant. She continued to work at the clinic through her high school years. Now a college student, Gwen continues to work at FESAVS full-time during the summer months and part-time during the school year.

Gwen is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in cellular biology at Schreiner University and plans to attend veterinary school after graduation. At Schreiner, she rides on the equestrian team and founded the Pre-Veterinary Club.

In her free time, Gwen enjoys riding horses, reading, and spending time with her family and many pets.
