Victor Lara, MVZ – Intern Veterinarian
Victor Lara was born and raised in a small, coastal town located in Veracruz, Mexico. He grew up on a ranch surrounded by an assortment of animals and knew from an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In 2016, he obtained his degree from Veracruz University. He then completed a two-year internship focused on equine medicine and surgery at the Universidad Autonomo de Mexico ZUNAM. Following his internship, Victor gained further experience at equine hospitals throughout Mexico.
In 2020, Victor began an internship at Fredericksburg Equine and Small Animal Veterinary Services. According Victor, it was his “dream to come to the United States to study and train, because US veterinarians are some of the best doctors in the world!” After completing a one-year internship, Victor joined FESAVS as a veterinary technician. He has proven himself to be a valuable staff member, and he says that likes the fact that the FESAVS team “is like one big family.”
Victor’s primary interest is equine sports medicine, but he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. He believes that veterinary medicine is an opportunity to “respect the lives of all creatures who inhabit this world and dignify their existence.”
